SLS Joint Conference Call for Proposals and Registration are Open

A call for proposals and registration have opened for the 2024 School Library Systems' Joint Conference. This year's conference is entitled Connecting Communities: Promoting Success for all Students aiming to highlight how school libraries can and do play in advancing success for all students by leveraging collaborative relationships with faculty, families and caregivers, and community partners. This year's School Library Systems include Putnam Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Dutchess, Rockland BOCES, and Yonkers Public Schools. tree image

If you do any of the following, consider submitting a proposal to run a breakout session at this year's SLS Joint Conference!

  • Write a newsletter for your building and/or parents?
  • Hold a Rockland Read In event in your school?
  • Work with your public library to get the word out about NYS Summer Reading?
  • Belong and work with your school's PTA on something cool?
  • Collaborate with your faculty on NYS Civic Readiness initiatives?
  • Have affective lesson plans or programming about digital citizenship?
  • Support students who have applied for the NYS Student Research Awards?
  • Have a Parents as Reading Partners Program in your school?
  • Prepare awesome back-to-school night activities or materials?
  • Participate in your district's Parent University program?
  • Help connect students with local colleges' resources or programs?
  • Or anything else in which you help to make connections in your learning community?

Breakout Session proposals are due by March 1, 2024. Selected presenters attend the SLS Joint Conference for free.
